Young parentless Dilum lives with his grandmother and her brother who is dumb. With the death to the grandmother boy’s life undergoes many changes. Abandoned with the careless, dumb relative who sells all the property that belonged to his grandmother to the landlady of the house where they were living. Dilum starts to undergo the most difficult period of his life. When his grandmother’s brother too leaves him, the land lady and her husband adopts him as a house help.

Noticing the keen student Dilum absent, his class teacher starts to search for him and with the help of police she manages to board him at an orphanage and support him to continue his education. But his happiness here too is short lived. The assistant matron of the orphanage starts suspecting Dilum for certain incidents taking place there.

But with the popular singer Sagarika who comes to support the orphanage, Dilum sees little hope to his miserable life. The singer who identifies Dilum’s talents decides to adopt him as her child. But the assistant matron who does not want to see Dilum’s success make plans against this. She makes up stories against Dilum to singer’s mother and prevents her (singer) from taking the young boy to her house. Meanwhile there are problems starts between the head matron and the assistant over Dilum and this lead Dilum to runaway from the orphanage and join a group of street singers led by a music master.

Though he was happy with them with the sudden death of the music master, the unfortunate Dilum becomes helpless again. But his accidental meeting with the retired estate superintendent bring luck to his life. But this time, it was the superintendent sister who fears that the huge property would go to Dilum and begins to plot against him. The superintendent suddenly falls sick and he was sent abroad for the medication and this takes back Dilum to another sad plight. The boy faced with harassment by the superintendent’s sister runs away again.

What await this young man had become the victim of circumatances?
