Sri Lankan Traditional Sweetmeats (30 minutes)
Sri Lanka’s culture relies a lot on its tradition and majority of it consists of its world-renowned dishes and sweets. The annual Sinhalese and Tamil New Year celebration is one of Sri Lanka’s top festivals celebrated within the year and as a part of the Sinhalese culture, many local sweetmeats are usually prepared in every household. Sweets such as konda kavum, kokis, aluwa, and athirasa are known to be a new year table favourite while kiribath and lunu miris are a staple that brings the perfect balance of sweet and spice for any Sri Lankan new year table.
